I very literally haven't been able to put the series down for the past couple of weeks. These masters take Kenichi on as their one-and-only disciple and I've been on a kick of reading Manga lately, and I have to say that History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi has really been engrossing. The story revolves around Shirahama Kenichi, a young teen who's spent the better part of his life being bullied and a chance encounter that leads him to a dojo where several masters of various martial arts reside. Will give it 5/5 for the first half of manga and 2/5 for the second half for a sum total of 3/5. Considering it spanned for 12 years, it’s pretty long for such style mange. After learning basics from Miu, Kenichi is able to beat a high ranking member of the school's karate club, and becomes a target for all the delinquents in the school. Driven by his desire to become stronger and to protect those around him, he follows her to Ryōzanpaku, a dojo where those who are truly strong and have mastered their arts gather (Ryōzanpaku comes from the Chinese story of Heroes of the Water Margin who train together at Liangshan 梁山). However, on the first day of class, he meets and befriends the mysterious transfer student, Miu Fūrinji. The story focuses on Kenichi Shirahama, an average 16-year-old high school student who has been picked on his whole life.
